Pool rules

  • All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult (18 yrs or older) at all times.
  • Children who cannot swim must be accompanied by an adult in the water with them.
  • A swimsuit is required in order to swim in the swimming pool. A shirt/shorts are NOT considered proper swimwear.
  • Swim diapers are required for all children that are not toilet trained.
  • Turner Aquatic Center does NOT issue cash refunds.
  • Turner Aquatic Center clears the pool in the event of severe weather including thunder, lightning, and tornado watches/warnings. The pool is closed for at least 30 minutes from the last visible sign of lightning or until the watch/warning has expired.
  • Life jackets must be USCG approved.
  • Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied in the water by an adult at least 18 years old AT ALL TIMES.
  • Flotation devices are not allowed.
  • Lap lanes are for lap swimming only.
  • No food or drink allowed inside the pool area.
  • No infections, deep cuts, or open sores permitted.
  • No rough play: dunking, shoulder sitting, etc.
  • No running.
  • No smoking or alcohol is permitted on the premises.
  • Shower before entering the pool.
  • Underwater breath-holding or any games that involve such is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

Pool rules

  • Obey the lifeguards and manager on duty.
  • Complete showers must be taken before entering the water.
  • No walking across or swimming under the bulkhead.
  • No food or drink except water shall be taken onto the pool deck.
  • Proper swimwear is required. We do not allow any clothing with cotton fibers.
  • Swim diapers are required for children who are not toilet trained.
  • The use of any tobacco products or alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited.
  • Profanity will not be tolerated.
  • United States Coast Guard approved life jackets will be the only recognized flotation safety devices and may not be used off the diving boards.
  • Any child requiring the use of a lifejacket must be within arm's reach of their parent/guardian at all times.
  • Children six years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • A lifeguard or coach must be present before entering the pool.
  • No running, pushing, shoving, rough play or dunking.
  • Throwing is not allowed.
  • No extended breath-holding activities.
  • No jumping into crowded areas.
  • Chewing gum will not be allowed in the pool.
  • Please do not allow the patrons to drink or spit the pool water.
  • Diving or doing flips from the side of the pool is prohibited.
  • No Jumping/diving from the starting blocks unless under the supervision of a certified coach.
  • Return kick boards and buoys to the kickboard shelf. They are for competitive usage only.
  • Inner tubes must be see through.

  • Pool closure dates: July 3rd & 4th, Sept. 7th, Nov. 25th-27th, Dec. 23rd-27th, Dec. 31st, Jan. 1st-2nd, April 1st-2nd, May 31st.
  • Lap swim reservations are moving to Sportsman; an Aquatic Center membership is required to reserve a lap lane online through Sportsman.
  • Children will be allowed to come and swim with parents, but ALL patrons must stay in their assigned lanes.
  • We are going to set a two-hour block limit per day to provide opportunities for all patrons to use the facility.
  • We have 1-2 sign-ups per lane available each hour.
  • Please do not sign-up for more than two time blocks per day.
  • You may enter the facility 15 minutes before your sign-up time.
  • If your child is 8 years old or younger, a parent or guardian must be in the water with the child. Parent/guardians will need to remain on the pool deck supervising children who are aged between 9-13 years.
  • The diving boards will be open unless Twisters Dive Team is practicing.
  • We allow private lessons at our facility. Please sign-up for a lane as if you were going to swim laps. A membership will be needed or daily admission paid for all participants entering the water. We do not allow private lessons on Tuesday and Thursday nights due to group swim lessons.
  • Due to group lessons now being scheduled on Saturday mornings, we will not allow private lessons to be held from 9-11am on Saturdays starting January 10th.
  • We are a facility part of the Park Hill School District, so when the district is closed, our building is closed as well.
  • We now accept cash, card, and check for all fees at the Aquatic Center.
  • Active Duty and Military Veterans get $5 off a membership.
  • Senior Citizens, age 80 and older, may come to open lap swim times for free. We offer a discounted membership rate for Seniors 60 years of age and older.
  • Our pool is available for birthday parties (35 swimmers or less) during open swim hours on Saturdays from 2-5pm, or on Sundays 1-3pm. There is an optional $25 table rental fee for tables to be setup for you in our viewing room.
  • Full facility rentals for birthday parties or other specialty rentals are available on Friday and Saturday evenings 7-9pm. For a full facility rental, there is also a utility charge for after-hours, but the tables setup in the viewing room are included in the rental fee.
  • Facility Usage: Lanes 5&6, Dive Well 3 (<35 attendees) Saturday 2-5pm $100; Sunday 1-3pm $90; Full Facility (36+ attendees) Friday or Saturday 7-9pm $165/hr; Utility Charge Friday & Saturday rentals only $30/hr.

Pool rules

  • Obey pool staff at all times
  • No running permitted
  • No dunking permitted
  • All water toys must be approved by pool management
  • Proper swim attire is required and must be appropriate for a family friendly, public facility with pool management having final authority (NO cut-offs, street clothing or underclothing permitted)
  • Do not “hang out” 1) near lifeguard stands or talk to lifeguards when they are on duty, 2) near the pool office or 3) near the snack bar
  • There will be a 10 minute rest period for children under 18 called at the discretion of pool management
  • Children under the age of 10 MUST be accompanied by an adult AT ALL TIMES
  • Glass containers in the pool area are STRICTLY prohibited
  • Use of alcohol, tobacco, electronic tobacco or vaping products or any illegal substance is not permitted in the pool area; pool staff will contact the police immediately and without warning
  • No chewing gum shall be allowed in the pool area
  • Pool staff may exclude anyone from the diving well who has not demonstrated sufficient ability to swim
  • Unauthorized persons are not allowed on the lifeguard stands, in the snack bar, office or maintenance areas of the pool
  • Any individual causing a disturbance will be escorted off city property by the Fairway Police Department
  • No abusive, offensive or profane language (verbal or in print) shall be permitted
  • Dispose of any trash in the receptacles provided
  • No pets are allowed in the pool area
  • Any member of pool management may for reasons of health, safety or discipline, direct any person out of the pool area for violation of swimming pool rules and for unbecoming behavior
  • Babysitters are responsible for all children in their care at all times
  • Members will be responsible for all actions of their children, babysitter(s) and guest(s)
  • The City of Fairway and its employees are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property of any kind
  • No bikes, roller blades, scooters or skateboards are allowed in the pool area at any time
  • Kick boards are available to adults who wish to swim laps in the lap lanes only
  • Private lessons are prohibited unless arranged through the swim lesson program
  • Diving from the side of the pool is only allowed in the diving well during designated times
  • No sitting, standing or hanging on lane lines
  • One person on a board at a time
  • One person on a ladder at a time
  • Jump straight off the board
  • Do not dive until the previous diver has cleared the area below the board and has reached the ladder
  • Swimmers may bounce only once on the diving boards
  • Parents (or anyone) may not be in the diving well to “catch” or assist others going off the diving board
  • No children over the age of 5 may use the wading pool
  • Children must be supervised by an adult at all times
  • Any small child wearing diapers and using the wading or main pool must wear plastic or rubber pants with elastic legs over the diapers
  • Rafts, tubes or blow-up toys are not allowed
  • Water wings and arm-band floaties are not allowed
  • Acceptable devices for infants and toddlers are (an adult must be within arms reach at all times): “My Baby” float double ring system, swimsuits containing floatation in both front and back, Coast Guard type II vest with buckle closures (not ties), an infant device with a built-in seat for children under 1 and noodles are allowed as recreational toys
  • Small cloth covered nerf balls are permitted for use in the water; playing catch from/on the deck is not permitted
  • Large nerf footballs, open foam nerf balls and all other nerf products are not to be used at any time inside the pool area
  • Small (less than 20” in diameter) blow-up beach balls may be used so long as they are not interfering with others enjoyment of the facility
  • No member or guest shall knowingly enter the pool, or permit a child or guest to do so, while suffering form any contagious disease, such as athlete’s foot, ringworm, inflamed eyes, pink eyes, colds, skin diseases, etc., while suffering from an open wound, sore, or abrasion, or who is wearing a bandage or bandages. Pool staff will be observing patrons and may ban from admission or eject a patron from the pool area.
  • Fairway Parks and Recreation Department prohibits the use of “any electronic, mechanical, manual, electric, digital, voltaic or other device, instrument or means capable of recording, producing, duplicating, reproducing, storing, copying, transmitting or displaying any visual, video, photographic, electronic, digital, recorded, or other visual image, picture, or representation, including but not limited to any camera, photographic camera, video camera, fiber optic camera, motion picture camera, television camera, camcorder, or videotaping device, or any cell phone of any type or kind regardless of its capacity or lack thereof to produce a visual image, in any restroom, locker room, lavatory, bathroom, shower facility, or dressing room, in any building owned, leased to, or under the control of the Parks and Recreation Department.”
